BCO honors the 200th anniversary of Verdi’s birth with his first adaptation of Shakespeare for the opera stage. In a letter to his librettist, Verdi wrote: "This tragedy is one of the greatest creations of man... If we can't make something great out of it let us at least try to do something out of the ordinary".
